Welcome to Granada Climbs

This website is intended to provide information about climbing holidays in the beautiful province of Granada, Andalucia in Southern Spain. Situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the ancient city of Granada is surrounded by pristine limestone, equipped with more quality sport climbing than you can shake a stick at. Thanks to the reliably sunny weather, there are great climbing possibilities throughout the year.

The principal area of Los Cahorros is a mere 20 minute walk from the village of Monachil where our accommodation is located (making even the hire of a car unnecessary). Elsewhere, the crags of Alfacar, Loja, Diezma, Los Vados and the legendary El Chorro are within easy reach by car.

Monachil itself is a typical Andalucian village 15 minutes drive from the centre of Granada and well served by local buses making it easily accessible in the evenings or on rest days.

Additionally, there are numerous other activities to occupy tired climbers or non-climbing friends such as paragliding, mountain biking, sightseeing in Granada or simply relaxing on the beach, a one hour drive away.

The charm of this area combined with an amazing range of activities close by and a climate that allows you to enjoy them, make it a truly amazing climbing-holiday destination. It is the reason why so many people come here and never leave.

Please note that this site offers accommodation only and is aimed at self-sufficient climbers with experience of climbing independently. We do not offer courses or guiding services and take no responsibility for the safety of persons climbing or engaging in any other outdoor activity.

If you do require tuition or guiding services we can place you with fully qualified and experienced English-speaking guides with detailed knowledge of the area. (Please advise us in advance).
